Researcher biography
Mr Lenny McInnes has been a member of UQ Materials Performance since graduating in 2004. His consultancies have focused on equipment failure investigations especially where mechanical systems or metallic materials are underperforming, but also deals with polymers, ceramics and composites. He has been involved in expert witness assignments including court appearances and is commonly the lead investigator for fatalities and major incidents in the mining industry. Mr McInnes focuses on providing solutions to identified causal factors, especially where innovation and conceptual redesign is required to improve function or safety. Several solutions have resulted in patented inventions of large mechanical components.
