Researcher biography

Professor Toshiyuki Mori is an active research scientist at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Tsukuba Japan. He is presently a Green Leader for the Global Research Centre for Environment and Energy based on Nanomaterials Science as well as a group leader of the Fuel Cell Materials Group within NIMS. He also holds an adjunct position at the University of Hokkaido.

Professor Mori has an interesting background in that he spent several years in the ceramics industry before joining NIMS. He brings this experience in the corporate sector to his research activities and combines fundamental studies with an eye to applying this knowledge to practical challenges.

The relationship between the CMM and NIMs is strong and we welcome a regular stream of visitors to our facilities from NIMS through Professor Mori’s group. Our collaborative work has resulted in more than 60 journal publications and we continue to develop strong ties between our two organisations.
