High Pressure Freezer EMPact 2
A high pressure freezer is used to freeze living cells and tissues with liquid nitrogen under a pressure of 2100bar to avoid the build up of damaging ice crystals. This so called vitrification process of biological samples is a prerequisite for a subsequent high quality TEM sample preparation.
