UQ-Japan Day - Wednesday 10 November 2021

25 October 2021

We invite you to join the inaugural UQ-Japan Day on Wednesday 10 November 2021 and participate in the Advanced materials characterisation opportunities between UQ and Japan virtual workshop from 11am – 12pm AEST.

This workshop brings together researchers from Kyushu University and the University of Queensland to introduce the cutting-edge facilities for materials analysis, including Electron Microscopy, to both researchers and students. Looking at case studies of successful collaborations between the two universities, the session aims to inspire staff and students to avail themselves of opportunities these networks provide for collaborative research.

The session will include discussions with:

  • Professor Kazuhiro Nogita, School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, UQ
  • Professor Roger Wepf, Director, Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis, UQ
  • Professor Syo Matsumura, Department of Applied Quantum Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kyushu University.

There will also be valuable in-person sessions in the afternoon at UQ’s St Lucia Campus on engaging with Japanese partners, funding opportunities and student mobility.
