Olympus VS200 automated light microscope
The VS200 glass slide scanner is a highly flexible semi-automatic system that supports various slide sizes, objective lenses, fast optical sectioning for digital slide images (SILA imaging), oil dispenser, and a LED/laser light source with multiple filter sets. The VS200 supports reflected and transmitted brightfield, and plain and cross polarization imaging with the possibility to scan a sample using multiple techniques at the same time. An easy-to-use slide tray enables you to mix 26 × 76 mm (1 × 3 in.), 52 × 76 mm (2 × 3 in.), 76 × 102 mm (3 × 4 in.), and 102 × 127 mm (4 × 5 in.) slides on the same batch scan. A RFID system automatically detects trays, the number of slides and the size of the slides. The VS200 software supports offline analysis, deep learning, 3D deconvolution, and batch conversion to standard file formats. The image files can be viewed using OlyVIA Virtual Slide Viewer software that is free. Our VS200 is configured for geological sample characterisation, although life science materials can also be studied.
