About this opportunity:

We are currently searching for an experienced Data and Image Processing Scientist to join our team based at our St Lucia Campus. You will work collaboratively with the CMM team to provide data management, analysis and visualisation expertise to support research projects using CMM facilities.

This position will require leadership in data management, database and data processing pipelines and occur at a range of levels, including: providing advice and consulting; designing and delivering training modules; support via commercial software packages or collaboration in developing and implementing custom algorithms and workflows with UQ-IT expertise.

Our ideal candidate:

Our ideal candidate will have significant experience in image and data processing management, particularly with a focus on the implementation of data management, workflow processing, image processing, analysis and visualisation. You will also hold a PhD or equivalent relevant to data management, analysis and visualisation. It is essential you have experience dealing with big data and complex data sets, ideally gained with exposure to biological data sets.

You will demonstrate significant exposure to commercial visualisation tools such as Avizo, DM3 and relevant open source tools.

What we can offer:

This is a full-time, 3 year fixed term position at Academic Research Level B.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $99,542 - $118,206, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $116,464 - $138,301.
