Researcher biography

Nathan Fox is a multidisciplinary geoscientist with more than 18 years experience in minerals characterisation across the mining value chain including exploration, geometallurgical and geoenvironmental project stages.

He joined The University of Queensland (UQ) in 2019 working in the WH Bryan Mining Geology Research Centre at the Sustainable Minerals Institute where he evaluates multiscale-characterisation technologies for integration in orebody knowledge and geometallurgical projects, including supervising RHD student projects utlising multiscale-multimodal geochemical and mineralogical characterisation technologies.

Prior to joining UQ, Nathan worked as a Research Fellow at CODES, the University of Tasmania where he led a geometallurgical characterisation program as part of CRC Ore as well as post-doctoral research positions researching porphyry-epithermal deposits and critical metal recovery from mine waste.
