After completing the B.Eng. degree in Biomedical at South China University of Technology, China, Dr. Zibin Chen obtained his MPhil and PhD in the University of Sydney, Australia. After his PhD, he worked in the University of Sydney as a postdoctoral research associate until he joined Scitek Australia Pty Ltd, a world leader in Vacuum technology and surface science technology, as an application scientist in December 2017. He is now based in the University of Queensland working as a connection between the scientific industry and the university. His expertise focuses on the structure-properties relationship of various materials including metal, non-crystalline materials, semiconductors, and multiferroic materials. He combines scientific method with engineering techniques to explore a valuable pathway to increase data storage capacity in memory devices. Zibin specialises in various advanced (Scanning) transmission electron microscopy ((S)TEM), electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), focused ion-beam (FIB), and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
